Sick at Theatre Deli
Time & Location
About The Event
Sick is a bittersweet, bizarre and highly entertaining hour-long one-woman storytelling show about the impact of four years of cuts to the National Health Service. The artist draws on her real life experience of working as a receptionist on a busy emergency unit to explore the way that austerity impacts on patients, the staff who care for them, and their families and friends. Interwoven with true stories from the organised chaos of an emergency unit are snippets of how working in such a highly pressurised environment shaped the artist as a young adult.
The show is a study of what makes us human, a coming-out story, and the funniest and most approachable call to political arms seen onstage in recent years. Have a seat, have a Twix, and have a good look at how health policy is impacting this country on a very human level.
